Lucid has the capability of manufacturing small runs of CDs via CD-R Duplication (CD Burning). We primarily use Taiyo Yuden Water Shield CD-R blanks, which are known for quality, long life, and for maintaining excellent inkjet graphics. Lucid will typically burn CDs in quantities of 25 or less, but can burn up to 100 CDs when necessary. For quantities of CDs between 25 and 300, Lucid works with CD Duplication houses to mass-manufacture CDs using CD-R burning. The result is a CD that looks very much like a standard 'pressed' CD other than a light blue tint on the bottom of the CD. For quantities greater than 300 CDs, Lucid works with CD Replication houses to produce "Replicated" CDs, which are true commercial 'pressed' CDs. In both CD-R Duplication and pressed Replication, Lucid can provide just the discs, the discs with artwork, or the discs in jewel cases with artwork. For CDs that need to be low-priced and don't need to last a long time, Lucid duplicates low-cost silver CDs with no labels in generic envelopes. These are ideal as 'practice' CDs, etc. Pricing is $4 each for a minimum quantity of 15. Lucid also provides MAM-A Gold Archival CDs and DVD-Rs for long-term archival of CDs and high-resolution masters and digital files (MP3, FLAC). For example, the 24-bit, 96 kHz masters we produce are typically stored as FLAC data files on DVD-R. If you desire to archive the high-resolution masters of your recording, DVD-R would be the format you would receive them in. Please contact us for quantity pricing. CD Duplication prices assume that all artwork is already print-ready or is included in the recording package price.
